If you are new here, you may be asking yourself…what is ALL this about???

You are in luck. We have a manifesto. It’s more than a mission statement.  It’s grassroots yoga happiness.

Yoga in the Park Manifesto
We believe in people. We believe in community. We believe it is a gift to be walking around on the planet. And of course, we love yoga.

So, yeah, to be able to share yoga outside gets us Yoga in the Park teachers stoked! We like to think of it as refreshing, sort of like minty mouthwash…. :)

The feel of the soft green grass under your bare feet, the warmth of the sun on your face, the quiet sound of the gentle summer breeze as it moves over and around you, your lungs filling up with fresh clean air allows a new energy, to enter into the practice of yoga.

As we vinyasa, together, we connect to the planet and to nature through our physical bodies and our senses.  We find new strength and balance as we plug into the earth and move through the asana at hand. We breathe in oxygenating our bodies with nature’s sights and sounds and as we exhale, we expand into life.

Yoga somehow deepens our ability to listen to the core of who we are and recognize the beauty in one another and celebrate our connection as human beings not just on our yoga mats but in our everyday living.

It’s truly an astounding thing.

But let’s not get lost in the gorgeousness of the words and the philosophy of yoga…you will be hot (it is summer after all), you will sweat (a lot or a little depending on the temperature and your fitness level), you will move your body in new and unfamiliar ways, you might even experience muscle soreness….

We can’t legally guarantee that you’ll feel better but it’s been our collective experience that…well…you’ll feel BETTER, inside and out.

Oh, and we do like to keep things simple. These yoga classes are taught on a donation basis. A donation is the “act of giving.” Your donation amount is a gift that you are capable of giving at the time. The suggested donation is $10.

So, that’s it, the official Yoga in the Park manifesto.

Nope, we are not perfectly enlightened yoga teachers nor do we have all the answers. But we promise to show up, as often as we can, for you, for me, for us and to serve as your guide in the practice of yoga.

We believe in people. We believe in community. We believe it is a gift to be walking around on the planet. And of course, we love yoga…
